Unext is a startup company created by University of Wisconsin Green Bay students, Alex Marchese and Tyrone Powell. Alex and Tyrone encountered an issue at UWGB where students were having difficulties finding and being connected with job-shadow and internship opportunities both within and outside of their majors. In efforts to solve this problem, Alex and Tyrone developed the idea for Unext. Unext would be built as a custom web application that would provide an easy way for students to search for and connect with employer opportunities. After interviewing a number of local businesses as well as their classmates, they developed a wireframe for this tool and came to Webfitters to bring it to fruition.
Webfitters worked closely with Unext to build a powerful, completely custom web application that allows students to sign up for an account through their school, create a profile, which includes a full resume, and search for opportunities that fit their like and skillset. They can filter their searches by industry, location, employer and more. Students can also apply for jobs directly through the tool.
Employers can also sign up for a paid Unext account. Based on subscription level, employers can search students based on major, areas of interest, location and more.
Phase II to the project will feature build outs to both employer and student profiles. We couldn’t be more proud of our partnership with the Unext and are excited to see this project continue to grow.
