The Green Bay Public Market is a new community gathering area in development for locals, foodies, visitors, entrepreneurs and anyone that finds themselves in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This 45,000 square foot public market will be home to a grand market atrium featuring more than 20 vendors, a community event space available for lease, a professional kitchen, and indoor and outdoor seating spaces.
We worked hand in hand with the Green Bay Public Market’s management and operations team, On Broadway, and O’Connor Connective, the team behind the branding for the campaign.
By working alongside these two local organizations, we were able to design and develop a website that carries out the Green Bay Public Market’s vision for public purpose.
The Green Bay Public Market’s website is all about generating excitement, and interest, for one of the only public markets planned in Northeast Wisconsin,
Starting with the home page, the user is greeted by a rendering of the public market’s exterior which captures their attention immediately. From there, the page contains overviews of the project itself: why Green Bay, economic and societal impacts, the significance of a public market, and more.
One goal with the build was to educate as much as create excitement. When a viewer truly understands the larger impact the project will have, and right in their backyard, it can help make them feel like they’re a part of something bigger and generate loyalty from the very beginning.
The following pages throughout the main navigation are dedicated to the four pillars of the campaign; The Initiative, Inside The Market, Inside The Square and the Economic Impact. We worked with the teams to help organize content so navigation and access to the information was streamlined.
This page gives background on the organization behind it all, On Broadway, and their successes in the areas of economic development, community and cultural connection, and entrepreneurial sustainment in Green Bay.
Inside the Market
This is where users can find the information they’re really looking for! The ‘Inside the Market’ page focuses on the vendors, commerce and activities that will be located in the market, paired with digital renderings of the interior.
These two pages give viewers a ‘bigger picture’ of the Green Bay Public Market and its significant positive impacts on the area. The public market is just the beginning, with more development being planned for the area surrounding the building, “Public Market Square will become the epicenter of not only the block, but the entire Broadway District and the near west side of downtown Green Bay.”
One of the final pieces of the website build was creating a ‘Donate’ page for those who were interested in financially contributing to the campaign. In addition to the Donate page itself, our team integrated convenient ‘Donate Now’ callouts on the bottom of other pages to help increase its exposure.
Through a secure PayPal application, anyone from you, or your neighbor, to an established business can donate funds to ensure the Green Bay Public Market becomes a reality.
