Challenge

The Green Bay Preble Optimist Club (GBPO Club) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children through positive service projects in the community. As a member of Optimists International and Wisconsin North Upper Michigan Optimist, the Green Bay chapter is strategically positioned to empower youth throughout northern Wisconsin.

Prior to recruiting support from Webfitters, the GBPO Club was struggling with a website that was hard to use both from a user, and backend admin, perspective. Their original website failed to relay their message and information was difficult to find, creating a disconnect from the user. And… the cherry on top, the website was vulnerable to hackers and broken links.

Solution

We provided the Green Bay Preble Optimist Club with a new website that functions as well as it looks. The new website is efficient, interactive, and uplifting – helping to keep users engaged and further spread the message of the GBPO Club.

Design

The new site was designed with the user in mind. We wanted to reflect the hopeful and charismatic nature of the organization while keeping the pages clean and organized.

Design Elements include:

Eye-catching colors and plentiful images provide the viewers with a better understanding of who the GBPO Club helps.
Incorporation of the Optimist International’s signature blue into accents throughout the website, creating a contrast to the whitespace on the pages and highlight sections of importance
Optimized layout for mobile-friendly viewing

Call to actions

In order to prompt action by the user and reach the GBPO Club’s engagement goals, we utilized clear call-out sections to make navigation easier. These can be seen immediately on the homepage where users have the option to Donate, view Our Members, Join Us, and Contact Us.

Features

Our team worked hard to make the GBPO Club’s website more interactive and beneficial through the installment of an Event Calendar and Service Project showcase. This allows users to see upcoming events, opportunities they can become involved in the organization, and successful projects organized and carried out by the GBPO Club.
